From the amazing Machupicchu, it was back to Cusco and it's touristic delights
It felt like a huge achievement....perhaps another once in a life time experience...
My dutch friends had made it it back safe and it was time to hit the spots...Qusco is full of pubs..and restaurants to cater for the thousands of tourists...
This Irish pub
Has been my favorite while in Qusco....and I was delighted to see that amongst the many flags that adorn the ceiling...there is a Kenyan flag!!!!
The Manger was glad to finally find out to which country it belonged...
That night we hit also "the Muse' "The Lek", "Mama Africa".... We drunk, danced and drunk...
until 4am....
we were just so happy
to be out of the jungle, we were enjoying the friendship and saying to good bye to Hester who was returning to Holland...at 11.00am after one and a half years of traveling....
For me...Cusco was more or less a done deal...I felt had no more business here and decided to head on to Arequipa
without any expectations, just a change and some place different...
I sat back and enjoyed the landscape during the 10 hour bus ride...
snow top mountains
Lagoons
llamas
and cactus...
After an extremely dodgy start with a lodging (recommended by a taxi driver) where I had to jam a chair under the door.... next morning, I packed my rucksacks like any tourist and left for nowhere...the good thing in this case is that you can't get lost cause you are going nowhere...lol
I headed back to a hotel that the taxi driver had earlier described as being in dangerous area...
Which was in fact the most beautiful park.. and i think "posh" area...
I was more than delighted by the greenery and beauty of Arequipa, the white City
doves and more doves in the Plaza de Armas
And I had the most fabulous place to stay
...The land lady and her kids have my stay here so comfortable and special
with a view over El Misti
!!I am sitting back & enjoying my visit...I feel this is when my holiday has really started!!!
I realized I love this city so much because it's green with blue skies just like home
...........and there is a golf course here.......
