land of Inkas

Some of the names of places sounded so..........

Lima, city of Viceroys....now that sounds  GREAT PLACE FOR A DRINK!

Cusco...The belly button/centre of the Earth....I think it's great to stand at the Centre of your planet

                                                           Lake Titicaca...very Kiswahili sounding word...

                               Cajamarca...The spa of the incas

The Mysterious Nasca lines...made by aliens...?

                                                                    The source of the Amazon...

                                                                     Machu Picchu...lost city of Incas

The Inca trail...highway to the great empire

                                                And so much more!!!!!

Mlevi will  have plenty to do and appreciate life without golf

I will have to take up a new sport to keep fit...and experience the environment
                                                                         horse riding and salsa

A 3 day mountains trek... and a "a good brew" at a white flagged homestead along the way....sounds like a great deal to me!

The blues...at countdown...

Let the count down begin...
Mlevi is having serious blues and wondering if this going away to Cuba, Patagonia (yea that's where some of my friends are sending me!!) thing is a good idea...

Since when did this important self discovery/recovery mission become relegated to a "thing"?

I guess since I had such a good time at Mlevi's going away bash and wondered why I was leaving behind such wonderful friends,
home, weather, food and drinks and golf.... for God knows what.

For a fact, Peru is far, far, far from Eldoret....why Eld....for goodness sake....???

Because there is a sign board there with an arrow pointing to Peru and indicating...that it's thousands of miles towards the west!!!

Think anybody from Eldoret might be looking for directions to Peru?

Some consolation is that Peru is close to the equator, so the climate/weather should not be too unfamiliar.

Well, well how about getting fit by jogging and swimming then save on the airfare to Peru....
I wonder how many weeks it would take ??? For sure you will be

                                               en muy buena forma!!!!

One thing for sure, soon, all too soon, my spanish will be better.....

The irony of life

You spend so much, time, effort, resources to get to a place or level in your list of goals..
just as you get there, things change!!!!

In my case, I've been struggling for  a couple of years, to hit longer shots...and bring my handicap down...every golfer elusive dream..

Bingo!!! Mine just came true...just figured out how play cracking shots and wow...amazing, I shocked me and all else who had seen the miserable baby shots that have been dogging me for too long.
Mlevi,  has just figured out"'how to play sterling golf"...weeehweeh!!!

But guess what... ?!!!

....THERE IS NO GOLF COURSE IN CUSCO....and that is where I shall be for 3 months, while in PERU.....

I did talk of getting out of my comfort zone....didn't I? So I guess this should be just cool.

but a golfer or maybe a GOLF JUNKIE (which a couple of friends and I are) WOULD DEF CONSIDER THIS A TRAGEDY!!!

However, Mlevi shall live to tell the tale..."alternatives to golf"

In Peru, I can know there will be

a great alcholic drink, salsa.... and of course

the BEACH full of  latin delights

Peru has a  Pacific Coast of over 2,500km long...wow..that's loooooooong

Health tips
Keep moving, whether  walking (with a purpose on the golf course) or at the gym...the squats and lunges are killers.....to build strength and power to smack that ball right down the fairway!!!!

The trade off might just be a better option....VIVA LA FIESTA!!!!!

Second wind of my soon to be vida loca

at some point, i guess now I can say it, we all reach that point when we are neither young nor old...
so we either try to do things in the same way, with the same energy, zeal...as when young...
or we try to do them differently as when older...
So Peru for me is about finding the different way of being...
May be just going away will in itself be a credible way to being different.

Health wise
...apart from the juices...invest in a hoola hoop...ye, that's right....

Start with 2 minutes clockwise and build to 10mins within two weeks
then try anti-clockwise...half a minute the first week and build up

After a month of ....hoola hooping, now go on and on and on ......  until, well.... for ever

Watch those stomach muscles tone amazingly

Talking of different...started on my spanish lessons...today...guess what my first sentence is...?
¿Te gustarĂa tomar una copa?

Before Peru

well, I've been meaning to start this blog for months now...
Now that Peru is a fortnight away, it had to be done!!!

Before mlevi aka, my self, leaves for Peru, I've been keeping, well trying to keep healthy with juices

So today's juice...will be my favorite
pineapple, ginger and beetroot... good for detox, esp. after an evening of ulevi

Now, it's interesting...a Kenyan mlevi off to Peru.....of all places...why, everyone asked...by yourself...you don't know anyone there.....on an on they went on...

yes, to all those questions...to learn spanish and experience a different culture...to get out  of my comfort zone... I answered.
so I look forward to my peruvian experience...let's have the same conversation 3 months later....post Peru
